Terms of Service for Anyverse

1. Introduction

Welcome to Anyverse! By accessing our website and services, you agree to these terms of service.

While we use reasonable attempts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the content and materials on our Site (anyverse.app), to the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any of the content. The content may be subject to change without notice, and we do not undertake to keep the Site up-to-date. The content is factual information only, is not comprehensive, and is for general information purposes only. We also do not warrant that access to the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses.

2. Definitions

  • "Service" refers to Anyverse UK Limited's website and services
  • "Site" refers to anyverse.app
  • "User," "You," and "Your" refers to you, the person accessing this Service
  • "Anyverse", "Company," "We," "Our," and "Us" refers to Anyverse UK Limited, a registered company in England and Wales (company number: 16416032)
  • "Terms" refers to these terms of service
  • "User Content" means any content you submit to the Service, including personal statements drafts submitted to our AI Statement Reviewer, and other materials
  • "AI Services" means any feature that uses artificial intelligence to generate, analyse, or provide feedback (e.g., AI Statement Reviewer)
  • "Customer Communications" means messages, chat transcripts, survey responses, support tickets, or similar interactions you have with us through the Service or other official Anyverse channels

3. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.

4. User Account

If you register an account with us, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
  • Restricting access to your computer and account
  • Accepting responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

5. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, we own or license the Service and its content and all intellectual property rights (including any copyright, registered or unregistered designs, illustrations, artwork, patents, trademarks, logo rights, and domain names) displayed or used on the Site.

Restrictions on Use

You must not:

  • Copy or use, in whole or in part, any of Our Intellectual Property
  • Reproduce, retransmit, distribute, display, disseminate, sell, publish, broadcast, or circulate any of Our Intellectual Property
  • Breach any intellectual property rights connected with Our Intellectual Property, including altering or modifying any of Our Intellectual Property, causing any of Our Intellectual Property to be framed or embedded in another website or platform, or creating derivative works from Our Intellectual Property

Limited Permission for Social Media

You may publish or repost our content on your social media, provided that:

  • You do not claim ownership of the Content or Our Intellectual Property
  • You do not claim endorsement or approval from us
  • You do not damage or misuse our reputation
  • You comply with all other terms of these Terms

6. User Content

You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and use your User Content (including Customer Communications) solely to:

  • Provide the Service to you (e.g., process and display your personal statements, generate and deliver feedback, respond to support requests)
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service (including training support teams, quality assurance, and safety reviews)
  • Generate aggregated or anonymised insights that do not identify you (for example, sentiment trends, student experience benchmarks, or product usage analytics)

This licence will end when your User Content is deleted from our systems, subject to reasonable backup and archival copies and any legal obligations. We may also retain and use anonymised or aggregated information derived from your User Content (including Customer Communications) that does not identify you, and we may share or commercialise those insights with third parties.

7. Optional Research, Training, and Licensing Uses (Consent-Based)

If you choose to provide explicit consent, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your User Content (including Customer Communications) for the consented purposes of AI model training, research, or inclusion in licensing datasets that we may provide to third parties.

You may withdraw your consent for us using your personal data at any time by contacting legal@anyverse.app, but withdrawal will not affect:

  • any use of your User Content that has already taken place prior to withdrawal, or
  • any datasets, research, or models that have already been trained, shared, or licensed, or
  • any anonymised or aggregated data derived from your User Content.

Because AI model training and dataset licensing may involve irreversible processes, we will not be able to remove your data from those completed uses once they have occurred. However, we will stop using your identifiable User Content for any future research, training, or licensing activities upon withdrawal of consent.

We may also create and use anonymised or aggregated data that does not identify you without additional consent.

This clause does not affect your statutory data protection rights. We will comply with all applicable data protection laws, and any limitation on withdrawal applies only to the extent permitted by those laws.

8. AI Services and Generated Content

AI outputs (e.g., reviews or suggestions) may be generated by algorithms and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or require human oversight. You are responsible for evaluating AI outputs before relying on them. We provide no guarantee that AI outputs will achieve any particular outcome (e.g., admissions success).

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service:

  • In any way that violates any applicable laws
  • To harass, abuse, or harm another person
  • To impersonate or attempt to impersonate others
  • To tamper with or modify the Site, transmit viruses, or use routines that may damage or interfere with the Site
  • To send unsolicited electronic messages to other Users
  • To engage in data mining, scraping, or similar data gathering tools on the Site
  • To facilitate or assist a third-party to do any of the above acts

10. Third-Party Sites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. Unless we tell you otherwise, we do not control, endorse, or approve, and are not responsible for, the content on those websites. If you purchase goods or services from a third-party website linked from the Site, the third party provides the goods and services to you, not us.

We may receive a benefit (such as a referral fee or commission) should you visit certain third-party websites via a link on the Site (Affiliate Link) or for featuring certain products or services on the Site. We will make it clear by notice to you which (if any) products or services we receive a benefit to feature on the Site or which (if any) third-party links are Affiliate Links.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Anyverse UK Limited, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or exemplary damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the service
  • Any unauthorised access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
  • Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from our service
  • Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through our service by any third party
  • Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the service, and/or
  • The defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any third party

This limitation of liability does not affect any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors; for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or for breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Privacy

We respect your privacy and understand the importance of protecting your personal information. Our Privacy Policy (available on the Site) sets out how we will collect and handle your personal data, including use of AI features.

13. Discontinuation of the Site

We may, at any time and without notice, discontinue the Site (in whole or in part) or exclude any person from using our Site.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and defined following the laws of England and Wales.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any changes by posting the new Terms of Service on this page and updating the "Last updated" date of these terms.
